If your budget can’t stretch to carbon, there is absolutely no need to be ashamed, the same Race and Ride concepts described on page 15 exist in aluminium, but not just any aluminium.

We use our 6066 triple butted aluminium which requires more effort to work with, but for a factory like Merida, this is our bread and butter, and the payback is that it rewards the rider with a lighter more reactive frame.

All but the so called entry level feature hydro forming to give a no compromise frame.

Every single aluminium road bike features our X-Taper head tube and full carbon tapered fork – yes you read that right, our so called entry level bike has a full carbon tapered fork and 6066 aluminium frame!

If you look at bangs per buck, you could almost argue that with an all up weight of 21lbs (excluding pedals in a 54cm) the Race Lite 900 is the star of the range!
